Whether you choose to spend the whole day with us or just the reception, we’ll provide you with a dedicated wedding co-ordinator who will help to plan and see you through your day. Here’s just a taster of what our Wedding Package has to offer you:

We believe that your wedding day is for all the family to enjoy, not to be stressed about, that’s why we are the only hotel in North Devon to offer a complete personal service for your special day. Not only will we help to plan a schedule for the day, we can also help with seating arrangements, floral decorations, and any other special requirements you may have in mind to make your day extra special.
As a complimentary service, we can provide the following at no extra cost:
- An experienced wedding co-ordinator who will help to plan and see you through your day
- A table plan printed and displayed
- A silver knife provided to cut the cake
- A complimentary night as a complimentary gift
- Your favourite music piped into the ballroom during your meal
- We will deal with any big deliveries you may have on the day (eg. flowers etc.)
- We will place your guests name cards and favours on the tables
- We will accept early delivery of your wedding cake and set it up for you
- We will adorn your tables with your chosen decorations
Fully Licensed for Civil Ceremonies
We are fully licensed for civil ceremonies and have a number of different rooms available to hire, depending on your ceremony size. For the ceremony itself we can cater for up to 250 people, and for the reception we are able to cater for up to 300. Your day can be as extravagant or as simple as you wish, it’s completely up to you.
Whether you choose to invite everyone you know to join in your matrimonial celebrations, or opt for a quiet and more intimate affair, The Durrant Hotel has a room to accommodate the needs of your party. Your hired room will be set up and decorated for you using your choice of flowers, balloons, and accessories - you won’t have to do a thing. The following rooms are available to hire:
Venetian Room/Ball Room (£600): Ceremony Capacity: 250, Reception Capacity: 300
Reading Room (£175): Ceremony Capacity: 70, Reception Capacity: N/A
Olive Tree Restaurant (£300): Ceremony Capacity: N/A, Reception Capacity: 40-80
Penthouse Suite (£300): Ceremony Capacity: 70, Reception Capacity: 50
Sir Richard (£300): Ceremony Capacity: N/A, Reception Capacity: 80
Please note that there is a £175 rental charge for any room used for a civil ceremony, however this will be waived if you book you wedding reception and evening with us.
A Dedicated Wedding Coordinator
Planning your wedding day takes time; there’s so much to consider! The date, the venue, the guests, the bridesmaids, the dress...the list is endless! That’s why we provide you with a dedicated experienced wedding co-ordinator who will be on hand to help plan and personally see you through your big day. For us, the most important thing is ensuring that you’re the last person worrying about whether the cake has been set up or if the seating plan has been arranged correctly – it is our pleasure to work with you to make your wedding day perfect.
On the day, your wedding co-ordinator will take delivery of the cake, flowers, balloons, and any other items, before decorating the room accordingly. They will also be able to recommend and book professional entertainment for the evening, be it a live band or a DJ. If you chose to provide your own entertainment we will require a copy of your entertainer’s public liability certificate. For something a little more formal, we can also arrange for a professional Master of Ceremony to make your announcements.
So, the ceremony is over, the photos have been taken, and you’re beginning to relax into your first evening as married couple – it’s time to celebrate with a meal and a toast.
Our talented team of professional chefs have put together a selection of wedding menus that include sit down meals and buffet options. If you have any special dietary requirements or would like to arrange a bespoke menu, we will be happy to discuss your needs and design a menu to suit.
Meals will be served by our professional waiting team who will be glad to assist you in any way they can.
A Complimentary Night in our Romantic Suite
As a complimentary gift from the hotel to the wedding couple, we give one of our beautiful Romantic Suites, all of which come with either a jacuzzi or a luxurious 4 poster bed. To receive this complementary room, you must book your evening buffet and wedding breakfast with us.
For something a little more luxurious, you can opt to upgrade to our Appledore Suite (the Honeymoon Suite) for a reduced rate of £150.
